During the holidays, many of us solemnly swear to do Big Things to improve our lives – such as fit into those super skinny jeans. For the first  Fashion Friday of the New Year, our fashionista, Kristin Holbrook of Two Skirts, suggests a makeover is the way to go for an overall flattering effect. Here is her short list of simple ideas for putting a fresh face on 2012:

1. Buy something new! A fun new top can make you feel like a million bucks. Try a spring trend with a pop of color and a new pair of skinny micro flare jeans..

2. Get a new hair do. Cut off some locks, chop bangs. Something as simple as using a flat iron will give your coif a whole new feel. People will notice!

3.  Refresh your face. Start with a facial and see instant radiant results. Then toss any makeup that’s more than a year old and hit the makeup counter. Try Bobbi Brown’s EXTRA tinted moisturizer and bronzer for a warm winter glow. Add some color to your smile with a Bobbi Brown rich color gloss.

4. While you’re at it, revamp your closet. Get rid of anything you haven’t worn in three years. In Telluride we have a lot of clothes recycling options. Pip’s Fine and Funky Consignment, the Telluride Thrift Shop and of course the Free Box.

5.Not partied out after the holidays? Host a wine and clothes swapping soirée!
