While we are all making New Year’s resolutions to eat less and exercise more why not add home improvements to our lists of self improvements?

Personally and professionally, I am a firm believer in living in an environment that makes us happy. Below is a list of a few simple things you can do to improve your home in the New Year, tweaks which in the long run lead to a happier you.

• Paint that powder room or guest room in a color that you lust, but are too afraid to use in larger spaces such as your bedroom or living room.

• Add some fun new pillows and a throw to your sofa. That is an easy way to introduce texture  pattern, and color to any room.

• Replace the chandelier in your dining area. Many of us settled for whatever was in our house when we moved in when in truth there are lots of fun, modern options that won’t break the bank.

• Buy one new piece of art. Maybe a photograph or a vintage poster or try framing that print that has been in storage for the last 10 years.

A Happy Home will help make for a Happy New Year and New You.
