If you haven’t visited Crow Canyon Archaeological Center, near Cortez, CO, your view of the history of our region is a bit limited. On Thursday, January 19, 2012, Dr.  Mark Varien of Crow Canyon will be speaking at the Telluride Historical Museum in a joint venture with Pinhead Institute. The lecture is at 6:00 pm. Dr. Varien will be speaking about humankind’s shift from hunting/gathering to agriculture, and it turns out that one of the best places to study this revolution is in our own backyard, the Mesa Verde complex and the Crow Canyon Archaeological Center.
