January 12 to 19, 2012

Visible Planets: Morning: Mercury, Mars and Saturn  Evening:

The middle of January delivers a waning Moon, waxing daylight and a winning Bronco team – at least this week! Ha!

I can’t resist the temptation to weigh in on the “Tebow Train” and all the well-deserved hysteria-euphoria of last Sunday’s fantastically riveting game in Denver against the Pittsburgh Steelers; the focus, ambition and success of the Bronco offense and defense early on, leading Pittsburgh 20 to 6 at halftime and then hanging tough as Big Ben limped his way to a fourth quarter end tie score of 23 to 23 – which resulted in an overtime period – was impressive, to say the least. Then! The first time ever test of the new NFL overtime playoff rules; Broncos win the toss, receive the kick and on the very first down of overtime, the brilliant play call by the Denver offense for a Tebow pass to Demaryius Thomas – who had been beating his defender, Ike Taylor, all day long – and an unbelievable!!! on-the-button completion, fabulous reception and fantastic run by Thomas for an 80-yard – yes!!! – TOUCHDOWN!!! BRONCOS WIN!!!

Lots of exclamation marks I know, but for me – a native Denverite and little girl Bronco fan – it was a moment of grace, suspended in time, a pinnacle in the agony and ecstasy of fandom – it just doesn’t get any better than this. Listening to our Sirius-XM radio, on the edge of my hammock, I felt transported; light, seconds of pure emotional bliss, reduced to nothing and at once, one with thousands, possibly millions. I could feel all the fans, the pundits, the sportscasters, the coaches and players. I was thinking of all my family and friends, tuned in and watching the game on their big high-definition flat-screen TVs back up in Colorado; laughing, screaming, jumping up and down; feeling the same wonder and awe, the joy and jubilation of an out-of-this-world, phenomenal, extraordinary, marvelous, remarkable, unexpected AFC playoff WIN!

Timothy Tebow – a controversial and polarizing young Heisman trophy-winning quarterback – devout Christian and disciplined athlete – a true “believer” – coming off three consecutive losses and the worst quarter of his entire football career – pulled the trigger and won the game, gifting the world with a touch and taste of the miraculous; the against-all-odds triumph and victory that transports us from the mundane to the ethereal; the floating-flying place, above reality, where we can forget fleetingly the trials and tribulations of life’s struggles and challenges, the place of legendary mirth and joy; mythic, epic – the supernatural heaven-earth place – the divine moment; a true “spiritual experience.”

I’m down here in Mexico on the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula, far from Denver and far from Tim Tebow, but Tebowmania is in the air; it’s flying through the ethers, bouncing off satellites and resounding in the arroyos. Last week, Mercury-Jupiter-Uranus trines and squares delivered wild, dramatic, earth-shaking, paradigm-shattering football. This coming week, a juicy Venus-Jupiter sextile promises plenty of adoration and idolization – the Tebow and Tom Brady match-up!!! couldn’t be more tantalizing – but with lunar squares to Pluto and Mercury, and unpredictable, explosive Uranus lurking on the sidelines, it’s anybody’s guess. Like they say, “On any given Sunday…”

Good luck and with lots of thanks to Tebow and the Broncos, May the best Team win!

Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19)
Vixen Venus kisses goodbye to humanitarian Aquarius and flirts with serious Saturn on her way to numinous Pisces this week, sharing her gifts of grace with those who are genuinely loving, forgiving and grateful to those who have helped, aided and assisted them. Take note of the cosmic message and back up thoughts and words with appreciation. Show up.

Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)
Suffering is the price we pay for life. Ups and downs, curves and curveballs are all part of the game. Understanding how we contribute and create our own suffering is a magnificent key to living a full and grateful life. Acceptance is huge when it comes to people, circumstances and situations we don’t like. Do what you can to change yourself. That’s it!

Gemini (May 21-June 21)
Ruler Mercury moves from optimistic, philanthropic Sagittarius into calculating, socially conscious Capricorn this week and in so doing, tightly embraces Pluto, the Lord of Darkness. This powerful conjunction opens doors of soul and psyche in the alignment of body, mind and spirit. Stabilize emotions via breathwork and remain willing to transform.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)
As you stand on the horizon of a fresh new year, remembering the past and envisioning the future, embrace the vibrant power of now. We live one day and one moment at a time, breathing in and breathing out. A powerful message comes to you via an outside source this week, recognize its awesome potential and handle with care. Silence is golden.

Leo (July 23-Aug.22)
You may agree that good health has been number one on your list of priorities for quite some time now. 2012 continues in this, favoring those who commit to daily programs of self-care and self-improvement. Take note of the drugs, chemicals and toxins you have put or are putting in your body. Switch to natural and organic as much as possible. Clean it up!

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22)
Capitalize on the power of Mars as it continues its lengthy transit through Virgo via positive thinking and productive work. Channel this potentially explosive energy in the healthiest ways possible. If you’re feeling anger, get out and walk. Do sit-ups, exercise or go for a hike. The life force is surging through your heart and soul. Keep it safe and sound.

Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22)
You may find yourself struggling with different aspects of body, mind and spirit as mental Mercury conjoins suspicious Pluto in calculating Capricorn. Pull out your spiritual toolbox and use the tools. Seek out friends and let their spirits uplift and enlighten you. The sweet potion of self-acceptance and self-love may be all you need. And it tastes good too!

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
Whether it’s New Year’s resolutions or simply thoughts and ideas bouncing around your heart and head, be on guard against self-flagellation and self-doubt. Feel your inherent strength and accept yourself exactly as you are today. You are gifted and blessed, a divine creature upon planet Earth. Tap into your heart and know you are loved.

Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20)
The sweet sound of laughter is music to your ears as you think of love and seek out romance. Whether or not you find it, you’re likely to have a good time looking. Jovial, flirtatious behaviors bring lightness to otherwise somber scenery, just remember to stay on track when it comes to honor and respect. Friends give you great guidance and direction. Use it.

Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19)
Maverick magician Mercury, the trickster and coyote of the heavens, is now trotting through Capricorn, playing jokes and plotting strategies along the way. Pay attention to internal dialogues, be conscious of what you say and be impeccable with your word. Regarding information and messages, consider the source. Verify validity before reacting. Be cool.

Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18)
Voluptuous Venus sweetly bids you adieu this week, but not before awarding you with the magnificent gift of a spiritually enlightened heart. Goodness is greatness and you know it. No matter how much you may have felt sorry for yourself or imagined your own demise, you understand now that suffering is a magical part of life. Enjoy the gift of grace.

Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20)
Working with others – specifically groups, fellowships and friends – may prove both challenging and enlightening as you awaken to the depth and power of communal involvement and common interest. Strive for efficiency and focus on productivity, rather than getting caught up in political or philosophical debates. Look for angels and follow their light.
