TELLURIDE ACADEMY “CHARITY BUZZ” NOW

A TWO WEEK STAY AT CASTLEWOOD IN TELLURIDE!  BACK STAGE PASSES TO BLUES & BREWS!

Yes, I know I am shouting, but I want your attention and here’s why. One of Telluride’s signature institutions, the Telluride Academy, is hosting an online auction RIGHT NOW and there are many items to bid on to help the Academy send kids to camp next summer.

This unique “Charity Buzz” auction is all about ensuring the fact that kids from all walks of life can attend the Academy’s summer enrichment programs. All funds raised from the Academy’s auction on the “Buzz” all go to benefit their Tuition Assistance Fund, designed for local families with proven financial need.

In 2011, the Telluride Academy served 738 students, 37 percent of whom were local. Of the 271 locals who attended, 131 applied, and qualified, for need-based tuition aid. Awards amounted over $100,000.

The Telluride Academy has provided outdoor experiential adventures and creative and theater enrichment activities (for children ages 5 – 18) for 31 years. Its version of No Kid Left Behind, established by Wendy Brooks from the get-go, is a firm commitment never to turn away a child due to his or her family’s financial challenges.

Interested in a wine-soaked Napa Valley vacation? How about tickets to the Metropolitan Opera and a backstage pass? Are you a Harley fan? Have lunch with former chairman and CEO Richard Teerlink. Aspiring screenwriter? Have your script reviewed over lunch with screenwriter/author James B. Hart. For back-country enthusiasts, ski with North Face athlete Hilaree O’Neill.

Since there is no hope of getting the birthday of Jesus Christ postponed and since the clock is ticking, for truly unique holiday gifts – one for you and one for the kiddo who gets to attend the Academy – click on “Charity Buzz.” the Telluride Academy home page. Auction ends December 22.
