Visible Planets: Morning: Mars and Jupiter Evening: Saturn
Leo/Aquarius Full Moon Love and Joi de Vivre
There are two Leo/Aquarius full Moons each year – one when the Sun is in Leo (Jul./Aug.) and one when the Sun is in Aquarius (Jan./Feb.) These lunations take place in the middle of summer and winter, respectively, when electromagnetic forces peak and seasonal energies surge. I often call these the two full Moons “party Moons” because they are filled with the strong, passionate power of the Leo/Aquarius polarity – strength of heart in both the individual and collective psyche – and the manifestations are found in every home, brothel, bar and bedroom; on the street, in the country, on the field, in the garden, at the theatre and in the galleries. We feel the desire to laugh and play, connect with others and indulge in fun and frolic, kiss and hug, toss and tumble. This is the time to celebrate life – in all its guts and glory – to love it like a lover and enjoy each and every precious moment of living and breathing here on this beautiful planet Earth.
Bottom line: Leo/Aquarius “party moons” are all about love. Whether it’s romantic, platonic, esthetic or cosmic; spiritual, physical, intellectual or emotional; devotional, rational or irrational, it all gets down to the love we have and the love we crave. Chase it, feel it, grieve it, imagine it – love fuels the holy fire of creation, awards us with the courage to explore and discover, expand our horizons and move ever forward. Simply put, love sustains life – it's all really we need – inside and out.
So, as the Moon comes to fruition on Saturday, August 13th at 12:57 pm, check it out. Can you feel the power of love in your heart? Do you have the courage to express it? Are you willing to embrace the beauty and bounty of life? Good luck, God bless, and enjoy the joi de vivre!
p.s. The hummingbird is the medicine animal of joy and love – notice how many are buzzing around you this weekend!
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19) Mercury retrograde in Leo translates as a time of sentimental nostalgia and heartfelt longing, no matter what your age, sex, economic class or color. Memories of childhood, first love and a yearning for true romance in the present stimulate your imagination. Enjoy the show, but temper fantasy with reality and stay connected to terra firma.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20) A bright and brilliant Aquarius full Moon comes to fruition in opposition of the Sun, Venus and Mercury in Leo on Aug. 13th. With so much fixed-sign energy in the atmosphere, be aware of personal agendas and ego-fueled behaviors that may cause more pain than pleasure. With jovial Jupiter in Taurus, default to loving-kindness.
Gemini (May 21-June 21) Behaviors, thought patterns and personal projects you considered a part of the past may resurface this week as Mercury continues retrograde. Examine whatever presents itself and recognize the need to deal with it. Accept responsibility for your part in your relationships and do what you can to amend and make them better.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) An almost exact square of revolutionary Uranus to evolutionary Pluto marks a critical turning point regarding professional direction and relationship involvement. Balance is the key here, but you may be asked to end one segment or another to maintain spiritual equanimity and personal progress. Focus on truth and integrity.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22) The Leo sun is sandwiched by Mercury and Venus as the Moon comes to fruition on Aug. 13th. This translates as a very busy time socially, romantically and financially. Speak your truth but utilize loving-kindness and compassion in the delivery. Communication and negotiation are favored, but realize it’s a step rather than a settlement.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22) Relationship issues may feel painful, but the jewels in the treasure are opportunities to heal old wounds via faith and forgiveness. Self-nurture via right action and service rather than stay-on-the-couch self-pity and resentment. Guardian spirits and angelic forces surround you now. Make contact via meditation, inner peace and prayer.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct. 22) Cosmic tailwinds of evolutionary force increase, as a cardinal Grand Cross intensifies desires for self-determination and social reform. Passion and initiative necessitate greater self-control and more consideration for others. As you continue in the ongoing Saturn process of personal self restructure, focus on fixing you and only you.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22) To meet the challenges of these wild and crazy times, we must raise our sights and our consciousness. This week’s full Moon illuminates the archetypal truths of Leo and Aquarius – we are all individuals, and we are all interconnected. Our unique sparks ignite the collective fire. By joining force, we can change the world. Be you together.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20) We are being called upon to join the Aquarian Age, to be spiritual warriors and agents of change. Nothing is more up the Archer’s alley, so why not sign up and serve? Military life and world travel fit you fine, what gifts and visions can you bring to the table? Consider the ultimate cosmic picture and go forth, united in peace.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) Pluto in Capricorn tunes up to an exact square with Uranus in Aries this week and full Moon light shines upon your most difficult and challenging issues in relationship. Who can you trust? Who trusts you? Integrity and honesty are the building blocks of healthy, happy relationships. Work on making yours better and better.
Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18) Love planet Venus joins the Leo sun and aligns with Mercury as the full Moon and several celestial bodies in Aquarius oppose it. That said, prepare for a week of balancing romance with reason, reality with illusion and business with pleasure. Consider how your actions affect others and do no harm. Forgive the past, live in the present.
Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20) Great healing is on the Pisces agenda this week and upcoming year. Chiropractic Chiron in your sign portends several months of attention and action regarding personal and shared emotional pain. Pay attention to what co
mes to pass, how you feel and how others react to what you do and say. This is a period of transformation – be aware.
