23 Jun "Touch-a-Truck" at Mountain Village, 6/25
Silent auction and more added to the fourth Annual Touch-A-Truck Fundraiser Saturday, June 25.
Mountain Munchkins Child Care and Preschool, operated by the Town of Mountain Village, hosts the fourth annual Touch-A-Truck Fundraiser in support of the childcare center’s infant, toddler, and preschool programs. The event takes place Saturday, June 25, 2011, 10 a.m.– to 1 p.m. in the Telluride Middle/High School parking lot. Admission is $5 per adult and/or child.
“My favorite thing about Touch-A-Truck is driving the school bus,” said three-year-old Gia Neyens.
Patrons can expect to interact with a variety of vehicles: touch, climb on, sit in the driver’s seat, or have a picture taken with their favorite service vehicle and work equipment. Returning to the annual fundraiser is trick horse Comanche, face painting and, of course the trucks, buses and fire engines. Touch-A-Truck patrons can also join Munchkins’ parents and kids for a BBQ lunch and bake sale for a small additional fee. Again, proceeds from both go towards supporting Mountain Munchkins.
“This year we added a silent auction and have amazing raffle prizes,” said Martha Starr, one of the parent organizers for Touch-A-Truck. “We are selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a 2011-2012 Ski Pass, a 2011 Telluride Blues & Brews Festival pass, and a toddler Jeep Wrangler. I really appreciate everyone coming out to support our Munchkins. This event would not be possible without our teachers and parents who are volunteering and donating items to make this event possible.”
Mountain Munchkins, a state-licensed child care and preschool, provides children with an opportunity for self-exploration and self-discovery. This year-round infant, toddler and preschool program primarily serves families working in the towns of Telluride and Mountain
