30 Jun Plein Air on the Telluride Valley Floor
The plein air artists working around Telluride this week always bring me pleasure by showing their unique perspectives on this beautiful place we call home.
This morning on our morning walk, we encountered painter Jim Wodark right outside our door, working in the early morning light, painting a scene familiar to me in its many moods and seasons. Jim was generous with his time, and we talked as he worked. He told me he had been a cartoonist for years, but seriously began painting as the stay-at-home parent when his first child was born. The native Coloradan now lives in California, and had never been to Telluride before the Sheridan Arts Foundation's plein air event in 2010. I suspect he'll be back: Telluride's scenery has clearly captured his imagination.
Thanks, Jim, for taking the time to talk and share your art.
