June 9 to 16, 2011
Visible Planets: Morning: Venus, Mars and Jupiter Evening: Saturn
Of course, after all…it's Gemini magic in the window!
I’ve written quite a bit lately about eclipses and “eclipse windows.” Of course, I’m totally into observing and experiencing what comes along during these very portentous times. Sometimes it’s big and blasting – events make the message clear – and at other times, not so. Subtleties and nuances can be all I get. Just like life, it’s in retrospect that vision is 20/20.
For me, the June eclipses carry plenty of pertinent “Gemini” information. There’s the classic gossip – Weinergate – and the perennial scholastic and graduation themes. Games of sport for entertainment – baseball’s boys of summer and the NBA finals, transportation, travel and commerce – gas prices! – unemployment and our struggling economy, along with cartoonish politicos Sarah Palin (and her vaudeville tour bus), Newt Gingrich (announcing his Presidential run on Twitter) and Donald Trump (firing himself as a candidate) going on with his pomp and pompadour. I’m not sure if there’s any prophetic message in all this hoopla – except that we’ve been playing the game too long! – but I do find it humorous, after all. And that’s 100% Gemini.
In my personal life, it’s all about siblings – phone conferences and emails – talking about what’s up with each other and reminiscing about what happened in childhood, how we each got to where we are today and where we’re headed now. I’m getting my columns written, doing what I need to do around home and juggling – now that’s Gemini! – to keep everything afloat. I received a call from my sweet niece Devan the other night about her son Grant’s discovery of an owl perched in one of their backyard trees. It was on the evening of June 3rd – his second birthday. Turns out there were actually five owls, but he was the one who spotted the first one. She wanted my take on it.
Fortunately my niece is cosmically inclined and owns the book Medicine Cards by Jamie Sams, which says it all. I asked her if she’d read the passage on Owl since the spotting, and she said, “Yes, of course.” And, as synchronicity would have it, I happened to have a copy sitting right next to me when she called. I opened to Owl and read a few lines. We laughed at the animal wisdom and metaphysical insight. I felt honored and blessed to be included in the loop. Owls are sacred medicine birds and when they appear in our lives, it’s big medicine. They are symbolically associated with clairvoyance, astral projection and magic, both black and white. “Well, he’s a Gemini and Gemini rules magic,” I said. “Owls are the animals of shamans, witches and sorcerers. They also symbolize knowledge. And, it was his birthday after all. So, of course, it’s a powerful omen. Obviously, he’s a magician and very wise beyond his years.”
Harry Potter, move over, here comes Grant! Good luck and may the magic of the Gemini eclipses transport you to places of goodness and grace, mystery and magnificence. And pay attention to the signs and omens, there is Gemini magic in the wind!
Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19)
The full Moon/lunar eclipse on Jun. 15th brings to fruition a series of events that have been in the works for quite some time. Life is an equation factored by action and consequence. As one who knows the power of self will, you stand on the precipice of surrender. Understand your part in every play, let go of pride and do the next right thing.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)
With good luck Jupiter now in Taurus, supporting efforts and boosting confidence, take a big-picture look at your life and determine what’s most valuable and important. Dream manifestation is favored this year. As they say, take care in what you wish for. Hopeful new beginnings are themes now. Put your best foot forward, no matter what you do. Be good!
Gemini (May 21-June 21)
The early and mid-June eclipses focus on Gemini craft and cunning, medicine, magic, mental and metaphysical realities. All possibilities of life and love dance, dive and dine with both the divine and diabolical. It’s all about polarities and intentions. With each relationship and circumstance, ask yourself, “What’s the good, positive choice?” Then go ahead, make it.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Dreams and omens abound as cosmic energy floods the personal and collective subconscious. Repeating images, messages in stereo and synchronicity in general are avenues to mystical and spiritual realms. Pay attention to feelings and intuition. With a Cancer new Moon/solar eclipse on the horizon, prepare for a major rebirth. Rest, relax and regenerate.
Leo (July 23-Aug.22)
The June eclipses highlight your involvement in groups, with friends and people out there in the world that you admire and respect. You may find your appreciation deepening and inspiration expanding regarding others. A six-year cycle of career effort is reaching a high point this year and recognition is likely. Stay on it, maintain progress and keep the faith.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22)
Personal and professional goals take center stage as the Gemini eclipses illuminate your solar 10th house of career and achievement. Focus on new beginnings and fresh starts regarding work plans and projects, but maintain a realistic, practical pace and keep your eye on the ball. Multi-tasking simply does not work. Do it one thing and one day at a time.
Libra (Sep. 23-Oct.22)
Hopeful, uplifting and even inspirational energy comes filtering through the cosmos as Gemini eclipses support philanthropic efforts, pure motives and good intentions. But, amidst the spiritual fluff and rose-colored glasses, it’s imperative to remain realistic and practical. Others may not be as golden-hearted as they say. Focus on the facts.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
With good luck Jupiter now in your solar 7th house of long-term relationship and commitment for a yearlong stay, you may be fantasizing or even considering marriage. Fancy that! The main thing is to stay practical and realistic when it comes to others. There is plenty to share in partnership, just don’t jump too far or too fast. Be cool and stay calm.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20)
Lunar and solar light
shines on significant others during the month of June. A powerful new beginning in a relationship, a binding commitment to someone or something and an overall awareness of the important influence that the people you care about have in your life are themes. Do your best to give your best and then feel good about your part.
Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19)
With generous Jupiter in fellow earth-sign Taurus for the next 12 months, put on those rose-colored glasses and take a good look around. The world is a beautiful, bountiful place and you are blessed to be in it. Focus on gratitude and experience the magic of grace. Embrace and cultivate artistic talents and express yourself via the power of personal creativity.
Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18)
Great good fortune comes to those who stay close to home and focus on the cleanup, improvement and enhancement of their immediate environment and living situation. Take care of your own backyard and let others take care of theirs. There is plenty of job security right where you are; you need not waste time or energy telling others how to live. Enjoy life!
Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20)
The dreamy influence of Neptune in your sign portends 14 years of increasing mystical and creative sensitivities, but Jupiter – the ancient planetary ruler of Pisces – is now in earthy Taurus, helping to keep you grounded. Eclipse energy encourages a daily practice of self-care and self-nurturing. Take it one day at a time and enjoy each day as it comes.
