11 Mar Telluride REP fundraiser Saturday nite at Ah Haa
Earlier this week, Telluride Inside… and Out provided the meat: the Whos, Whats, Whens, Wheres and Whys of the Telluride Repertory Theatre's upcoming event, plus the non-profit's history. Now it's time for the sizzle.
The Rep fun(d)-raiser at the Ah Haa School for the Arts begins with a champagne reception followed by four-course dinner, including a starter of Nut-Glazed Brie served with Dried Apricots and Figs, Red Seedless Grapes and Crostinis. The second course is a salad of Mixed Green Salad with Beets, Orange Segments, Toasted Almond Slivers, Craisins in an Asian Vinaigrette. Mountain Top Catering offers two choices for the main course: Blackened Grouper with Mango Avocado Salsa, paired with Lemon Scented Saffron Rice or Veal Osso Bucco with Creamy Rosemary Polenta. Dessert is a Trio Chocolate Mousse Cake. All four courses are paired with wine, thanks to the Durango Wine Experience.
Entertainment is snippets from the best of the REP's Broadway blockbusters, performed by some of the REP's top talent. Among the names: Bob Saunders, Jeb Berrier, Buff Hooper, Suzan Beraza, Judy Kohin, Ashley Boling, Jade Graham, Joey Lindly, Barbara Betts and Angela Watkins.
For a preview, check out the video made by REP board president Dylan Brooks at a recent rehearsal. It's crude, but you will get the point – which is nothing but (melodic) fun.
Funds raised from the evening are in support of the REP's 2011 season, including staged readings, a musical and a (free) Shakespeare in the Park.
