19 Jan Who's Bad, A Michael Jackson Tribute, in concert at Telluride Opera House, 1/23
kicker: “The show was great… Michael would have been proud.” – Frank DiLeo, manager of Michael Jackson
Three's the charm.
On Sunday, January 23, 2011, 8 p.m., the Michael Jackson tribute band, Who's Bad, performs in concert at Telluride's historic Sheridan Opera House, returning to town by popular demand for the third time. The dance party also features a costume contest for cash prizes: the best Michael Jackson costume from the 60s, 70s and 80s wins $75.
Who’s Bad was formed in 2003, at a very tumultuous time in Michael Jackson’s life. Jackson was in legal trouble, and his reputation was sinking quickly. What's more, Jackson was still performing, begging comparisons to the real deal. Nevertheless Who’s Bad prevailed, becoming a musical act that sells out venues all over the world and is praised by critics for being able to find that sweet spot between respect for Jackson's work and the band's own unique musical talents and interpretive chops.
All ages are welcome.
