Telluride's First First Thursday Art Walk of 2011, 1/6

Telluride's First First Thursday Art Walk of 2011, 1/6

Three years ago, the Telluride Council for the Arts and Humanities, an arts advocacy organization which opened for business in the 1970s, had a light bulb moment: produce an Art Walk that would underline the vibrancy of Telluride's fine art scene. And, while they were at it, why not support Telluride's retail scene, which works hand in glove with our town's cultural life?  Man cannot live by paintings, etc. alone….

To that end, new in 2011, restaurants are offering Art Walk Specials. Examples follow:

    •    The Cosmopolitan – featuring Barrata made fresh every day. Happy hour food and drink specials,            4:30-6pm daily.
    •    La Marmotte – Appetizer and a glass of wine = $15
    •    The New Sheridan Chop House – Prime Coulotte Sirloin 10oz and a glass of house wine, $21

This month, venues participating in the First Thursday Art Walk, January 6, 5 – 8 p.m., include the Ah Haa School for the Arts, 300 South Townsend, (mixed media, Susie Billings), Gallerie Framing, 217 West Colorado Avenue,( photography, Melanie Metz and Carl Marcus), La Cocina De Luz, 123 East Colorado Avenue, (photography, Carl Marcus), Lustre, an Artisan Gallery, 171 S.
