28 Oct Nuggets from the Nugget: 10/29—11/4
This Halloween weekend at the Nugget you can catch the scary, new vampire flick "Let Me In" that pays homage to the classic Swedish original horror movie "Let the Right One In." The core story is the same in "Let Me In," a young boy with an alcoholic mother who is bullied at school, and the child vampire who becomes his protector. The cold, blue scenes in the film are as evocative as its chilling, eerie story, and according to Roger Ebert "Those hoping to see a 'vampire movie' will be surprised by a good film."
Also at the Nugget this weekend and all of next week is the must-see film of the year, "The Social Network." The film follows the meteoric rise of Facebook and the rags-to-billions story of its founder, Mark Zuckerberg. Written by Aaron Sorkin, the film features "spellbinding dialogue" according to Ebert, and has been hailed by many critics for its fascinating story and engaging characters. Justin Timberlake is notable in his portrayal of Sean Parker, who started Napster and Plaxo, and who helps to corrupt Zuckerberg as Facebook becomes wildly successful.
