Causes for celebration are few and far between these days, but Telluride has two great reasons to raise a glass.
The Telluride Jazz Celebration is a long weekend dedicated to celebrating the only indigenous American musical form to have exerted an influence on musical development throughout the Western world. The event takes place August 5 – August 8 in Town Park and venues throughout town.
Reason #2: Trevor Tice. (And the Telluride Jazz Celebration)
Trevor Tice, a homeboy-made-good, is the founder and CEO of CorePower Yoga, the largest network of yoga studios in the country. Tice opened the first CorePower in Denver in 2002. He now owns and operates 45 upscale yoga studios nationwide. Prior to CorePower Yoga, Tice headed up TechPartners International, a $60 million dollar IT company he sold to a public UK firm in 2001.
Trevor Tice filled a niche in the emerging yoga market by simultaneously looking back to the ancient art and science of the East and forward to the West, with its focus of fitness. CorePower’s one-of-a-kind yoga experience, offers a variety of classes catering to all levels of physical and emotional requirements, including CorePower Yoga, its proprietary heated Power Yoga, Hot Yoga, Hot Power Fusion, Yoga Pilates, Yoga Sculpt, a Vinyasa flow combined with weights, and Yin, a restorative yoga practice.
Trevor Tice and CorePower Yoga are sponsors of the Telluride Jazz Celebration. CorePower is offering outdoor yoga Saturday and Sunday mornings, August 7 and August 8, in Town Park. The class for beginners runs 8 – 9 a.m.; the class for intermediates, 9:30 – 10:45 a.m.
