Jenny Lewis in concert at Telluride's Opera House

Telluride audiences first met folk and indie rock star Jenny Lewis when she performed last year with Elvis Costello at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Her encore performance is Thursday, August 12, 8:30 p.m. at the historic Sheridan Opera House.

They say there are two sides to every story, but that old trope does not quite cover it when the subject is Jenny Lewis. Over the past 10 years, Lewis has shown us maybe four or five sides, depending on where you were standing. With Rilo Kiley, her rock band of the past 10 years, she transforms from a shy indie-rocker singing barely above a whisper to the authoritative, take-no-prisoners singer/songwriter/front woman. Sharp as a tack and unafraid to tackle controversial subjects, Lewis' staggering range as a writer has brought the singer-songwriter critical acclaim around the globe.
