Summer Eclipse Cycles, Lion-Hearted Love and Evolutionary Fellowship

Michael_jackson_casanova_in_concert On Sunday, July 25th @ 7:37 p.m. MDT, the July 11th New Moon solar eclipse cycle comes to fruition in the opposition aspect of a Full Moon. This lunation takes place in the Leo/Aquarius polarity @ 03º00’ and therefore packs plenty of power when it comes to matters of the heart.

Last year – just like this year – our summer eclipses occurred in the Cancer/Capricorn polarity, focusing on the issues of Mother/Father/child, home and family, nurturing, dependence, control and/or authority. We experienced and examined the life and death of pop icon Michael Jackson in all its glory, sorrow, success and failure. Collectively, we moved through the drama and tragedy of a creative child prodigy, a puer eternus that imagined himself forever young, danced like no others and continually delivered breathtaking, breakthrough performances that rocked the world. No matter what we thought of Jacko and his weird, avant-garde lifestyle, his story touched our souls.

Coins2 Today Michael is no longer here in physical form, but his spirit lives on. Here on Earth, we still hear his music and remember his moves, but our focus is in the living, breathing present. How to deal with new economic realities, balance financial equations, nurture ourselves, our loved ones and our Mother Earth in ways that are healthful and sustainable? This is the bottom line and major message of the 2010 summer eclipse cycle. Where have we lost self-discipline, faltered in responsibility or given away our power? Cancer/Capricorn wants us to balance sweet sensitivity with capable calculation. It’s all about feeling and healing, maintaining healthy boundaries and showing up for others and ourselves in kind but practical, compassionate and realistic ways.

Lionsunset2 This week’s Full Moon in Leo/Aquarius brings us out of the maternal/paternal imperative of Cancer/Capricorn and takes us to the land of individual creative self-expression and shared, common interest. It is where we craft idealistic dreams and collective visions, fight lion-hearted battles of love and romance, arm ourselves with courage and step forward into evolutionary, cutting-edge groups and fellowships. It’s all about saving yourself and the world, doing the next right thing and having fun while you’re at it.

Good luck and may the golden heart of the Lion and wild wisdom of the Waterbearer be with you. Happy Full Moon!

Aries (Mar. 20-Apr.19)
Jupiter stations retrograde in Aries this week, amplifying themes of spirituality, positive perspectives and optimistic attitudes. We often resist what’s ultimately best for us and persist in habits or behaviors that are not. This influence encourages us to embrace our inherent goodness and nurture its growth. Awaken to self-awareness and do the next right thing.

Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)
The Leo/Aquarius full Moon on July 26th may force change – or at least awaken you to what needs to change – in your most personal and close-to-the-heart relationships. The ways you perceive, interact and relate to others may need an adjustment of the heart. Focus on your part rather than theirs. Changing your own behavior will change others’ as well.

Gemini (May 21-June 21)
Saturn reenters Libra and makes its fifth and final exact opposition to Uranus this week, challenging a direct face-off between the old and new. Pay attention to your own personal feelings and reactions as the world shape-shifts and meta-morphs radical realities and unprecedented events. The key to balance lies within, open your heart with love and kindness.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)
We have arrived at a pivotal time on Planet Earth. What is your mission and how can you best fulfill your destiny? Soul and heart desires run wild this week as full Moon energy illuminates issues of self-will vs. the will of others. Future outcomes are determined by daily practice, maintain a spiritual consciousness and do the work. Character is destiny.

Leo (July 23-Aug.22)
The July full Moon is one of the natural zodiac’s two “party” Moons, a lunation of heart, filled with lots of fun, love and romantic opportunity. This year, however, be aware of the rather radical and over-the-top influence of Jupiter/Uranus and the karmic consequences that are sure to follow any less-than-responsible behavior. Be cautious and stay cool.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22)
The world shakes and shatters as planetary placements pull us back and push us forward in a metaphysical dance of old vs. new. What no longer works, what has been exposed as destructive or dysfunctional and what serves no positive purpose must go. You may feel personally involved or part of the sacrifice. Let go and ride the rushing river. Learn to swim.

Libra (Sep. 23-Oct.22)
Master Teacher Saturn enters your sign for an extended stay this week, and in the process, makes a powerful opposition to wildcat Uranus. This translates as a snap, crackle, pop influence that reverberates awakening, awareness and rebirth. Consciously change your patterns, try new techniques and embrace the wisdom of daily practice. One day at a time.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
You may feel a little stress and strain as the Moon comes to fruition the evening of July 25th. Know that you’re exactly where you should be, a receptor and vehicle of divine will. Open your heart and head to the mysterious, mystical forces of the Universe. Perhaps you really aren’t in control. Ground yourself on Earth and keep your heart open to Spirit.

Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20)
You may feel uplifted or excited by people and life in general as the Moon grows full and you are awakened to the multi-faceted possibilities and potential of living with an open mind and a grateful heart. Grace is a phenomena experienced via acceptance, humility and compassion. Awaken to love, commit to a practice and be your own best friend.

Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19)
Power-hungry Pluto in the early degrees of your sign squares Saturn, Uranus and Jupiter this week, adding great tension to the nuts-and-bolts construction of your daily life and world. Take a deep breath, travel the high road and view it all from a more enlightened spiritual perspective. Seek assistance and guidance as you open the doors to dramatic change.

Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18)
You are part and parcel of the rip-and-roar potential o
f the week. With summer in full force and lunar light on high-beam, you may feel as good as you’ve felt in weeks. Pace yourself and take it one step and one move at a time. Let others talk and help guide the course of action. Be a good player, partner and participant. Consider the options and choose well.

Pisces (Feb. 18-Mar. 20)
You may feel as if you’re stuck in a recurring drama of chaos, change, feeling and healing when it comes to relationships. Good ones, bad ones, fat ones, skinny ones, it’s all in a days work. Humor is your ally and acceptance is your tonic. Focus on your own good works and lead by example. And don’t forget to have fun. After all, isn’t it all a mystery?
