04 Jun Telluride Rep/Playwrights Festival joint venture: Auditions Saturday, 6/5
Calling all actors and would-be actors: the Telluride Repertory Theatre and the Telluride Playwrights Festival are doing a joint venture, producing a new play, "This Isn't What It Looks Like", to be performed at the Michael D. Palm Theatre in Telluride, July 15-18.
Auditions are set for Saturday, June 5 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Call Lutz Florczak for audition time slots, 970-728-4539. Rehearsals start June 14. There are two female leads to be cast, ages 40-50. In addition there are numerous small parts, for male and female, of various ages, but as an ensemble piece, actors are playing multiple roles.
"This Isn't What It Looks Like" is a new play by Philip Gerson, being developed during the Playwrights Festival. The director, William Missouri Downs, will be here for the casting auditions. Downs' directing resume includes "Good Morning, Athens", a musical, at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
If you fit the bill for one of the female leads, come on out. If you just want the opportunity to get your feet wet in theatre in a small role with a few spoken lines, this is your opportunity.
