01 Jun Mountainfilm in Telluride: Timmy O’Neill rallies the faithful
Mountainfilm in Telluride, 2010 edition, ended with the traditional closing picnic and prize ceremony. What was not traditional, at least for the past few years, was the perfect weather from one end of the weekend to the other.
The celebration was chock-full of inspiration, major calls to action, all the things Mountainfilm is noted for, in spades. After the multitude had eaten, and partaken of New Belgium's best (a bit foamy), festival director David Holbrooke called on former Telluride local, climber/comedian Timmy O'Neill to energize the crowd to go out and spread the message: we need to make some changes to get this wonderful planet headed in the right direction. And lo, Timmy did it. And the multitude went out to spread the message.
