Next week, Wednesday, June 9 – Thursday, June 10, Telluride-based  The New Community Coalition and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation International offer a comprehensive and engaging building science and green building training session featuring Justin Wilson of Building Performance Solutions, a nationally renowned green and building science speaker/trainer.

In just one day at the Building Science and Green Building Seminar, attendees should gain a wealth of knowledge about green building, make new industry contacts, and heighten awareness of the latest building advances.

The dynamic session explores the fundamentals of building science and examines the principles of green building. Attendees  learn how to minimize costs, conserve resources, increase energy efficiency, and extend building durability. They get to engage with experts to learn to follow the systematic process of designing and constructing buildings to incorporate framing, insulating and air sealing techniques to effectively manage heat, air, and moisture flows.

Session topics specifically include:

• Introduction to Green Building Elements & Why it Matters
• Building Science Principles & Why 3rd Party Verification and Testing is Essential
• Water Management and Building Durability
• Energy Efficiency &Thermal Envelope and HVAC Improvements
• Indoor Environmental Quality
• Material and Resource Use
• ENERGY STAR for New Homes Compliance & Field Demonstration

The Building Science & Green Building Seminar targets builders, remodelers and trade partners, architects and designers, code and other city/county officials, utilities,energy/green consultants and verifiers, non-profit and other program managers, appraisers, lenders and realtors.

Registration: 8:00 to 8:30 a.m.
Session: 8:30 AM to 4:30 p.m.

Evening Reception and Product Expo 5:00  – 7:00 p.m.

ENERGY STAR Field Demonstration 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. Exact Locations for the field demonstrations will be provided during Wednesday’s classroom training.

Advance registration required for all events. Make your reservation or cancel by 12:00 pm (noon) Friday, June 4th, 2010.
