Telluride’s Nugget Theatre is screening four films for the week of Friday, May 21-Thursday, May 27, including a Telluride Film Festival presentation of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.”

In “Furry Vengeance” we learn that nature may fight back against real estate developers. It may help to remember that this movie is aimed at kids, and the humor may not be too sophisticated, but it’s had decent box-office. (Rated PG)

“Oceans” (Rated G) is a Disney documentary which lets its cinematography tell the story. The images are stunning and aim to convince those who need convincing that we have an obligation to reverse the degradation of our seas. Viewer response has been universally positive, though some remarked that some of the commentary should have been more explicit.

“Death at a Funeral” is a re-do of a recent Brit comedy. The original had some strange twists, and the new one adds one more: the family of the deceased is black. Check out the trailer; it all looks like a stitch. (Rated R)

The Telluride Film Festival is bringing “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” on Thursday, May 27. Based on the best-selling novel by Steig Larsson, it pairs a crusading journalist with the smartest punk rocker in Sweden, to investigate a 40 year old mystery. The film is not rated and has English subtitles.
