Embrace the Goddess and Touch the Earth

EmpressTaurus is the first earth sign of the tropical zodiac and the second zodiac month of the natural year. Its energy manifests in the physical plane via things that we can touch and feel, smell and taste, see and hear. Ruled by Venus, planet of attraction, love and beauty, Taurus attracts and receives, holds and secures. We experience it in the nurturing rain and warming sun, the melting snows and raging rivers that sustain and nourish life. It is here that seeds take root, trees bud and flowers blossom. The inherent fertility of the Mother Earth pours forth; we find comfort and feel contentment in the greening grass, soft soil and recurring cycles of life.

On May 13th at 7:06 pm MDT, the Sun and Moon came together in the conjunction aspect of a fresh New Moon @ 23º09’ Taurus and initiated one of the most fertile lunar cycles of the year. It’s a perfect time to plant gardens, nurture life and create beauty in your personal and private worlds. Take a look around your yard and neighborhood; discover the innate feminine, maternal power in the ground beneath your feet. Embrace the goddess, bless the bounty and surrender to the sensational season of spring. It’s time to touch and feel, love and heal…

Aries (Mar. 21-Apr.19)  Big news this week is the New Moon in late degree Taurus. Taking place in your solar 2nd house of personal ability and responsibility, heed the call and commit to a program. Financial security and income are themes. It’s time to shift perspective and see the bigger picture. Change and progress come one step and one day at a time. Seek assistance, but do the work.

Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)  The New Moon in Taurus marks the annual rebirth and renewal of soul and spirit for the Bull. Approach this day with reverence; respect the earth and all life upon it. Carve out a ritual of gratitude for all you have and all you don’t have. Cosmic forces encourage connection with a Higher Power or Creative Source. Do the best you can to find it. Go with the flow.

Gemini (May 21-June 21)  As your ruler Mercury has recently resumed forward motion, you may feel more at ease and comfortable than you have in weeks. Somehow all that stress, confusion, discontent and irritability has evaporated in the air. Now that it’s back to business as usual, focus on the basics. No fuss, no muss, no frills, no spills. Wake up present and stay that way all day.

Cancer (June 22-July 22)  Groups, friends, associates and associations in general continue as a strong influence and theme. Recognize the difference between the personal and altruistic. Keep alliances clean and check motives as you walk the paths of partnership and commitment. Guardian angels and feminine spirits open invisible doors of love and grace. Enjoy!

Leo (July 23-Aug.22)  Father figures, issues of authority and questions of responsibility continue as themes. Now it’s time to start fresh. Open your heart and infuse it with the love and compassion that generates grace. Rise above the petty, see the bigger picture and take the high road whenever possible. When in doubt, say the prayer: “Thy will, not mine, be done.”

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22)  The calm and powerful Bull is your ally and the Taurus zodiac month is a time to cultivate faith and perseverance, accept what we cannot change and work on changing the things we can. Responsibility is a golden road to freedom. Recognize your part and improve your contribution as you travel the path of expanding possibility and exciting new discovery.

Libra (Sep. 23-Oct.22)  A fresh new Moon in earthy Taurus shimmers symbiotic sensations via voluptuous Venus and her love of art and beauty. Suddenly the world is sensuous and vibrant. Color and texture, flora and fauna dance in a display of delight and desire. Till the soil, touch the earth and smell the roses. Plant actual and metaphysical gardens with seeds of good intention and divine will.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)  As the Sun and Moon come together in opposite Taurus, examine your part in relationship. Are you showing up in appropriate and timely ways or shining people on due to confusion and doubt? Check motives and identify desires, determine what’s real and decide upon a plan. Make contact, express feelings, be honest and – above all – keep the faith.

Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20)  You may feel slightly out-of-synch this week or off your game as planetary shifts and a fresh New Moon in your solar 6th house of self-improvement encourages humility and a less aggressive approach to life. Slow down, count your blessings and take it all one day at a time. Running in circles with too much to do aborts the mission. Be here now.

Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19)  Jupiter and Saturn dance in the heavens and shimmer rays of expansion and contraction upon us all. It’s been ten years since their conjunction and the current opposition aspect indicates we’ve gone as far as we can in one direction and that it’s time to shift the shape of things to come. As an advocate and activist, take note. Gather your forces and heed the call.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)  Neptune in Aquarius squares the Taurus New Moon and challenges the world and individual to go beyond the physical plane and dance with the Divine. Can you feel the numinous, ethereal vibrations emanating throughout the cosmos? Do you intuit the spirit and force of the universe? Tap in to the invisible, go with the flow and ride the cosmic waves.

Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20)  Lots of action and attraction comes shimmering through the ethers this week as Pluto, Uranus, Neptune, Saturn and Jupiter dance and dive with the Sun and Moon. Your plate is full and your table set. Pick and choose what you want to eat and remember you don’t have to eat it all. Focus on your personal world and own back yard. Take care of you and lead by example.
