Telluride TV announces interim executive director

Telluride TV announces the appointment of a new interim Executive Director, Susan Lilly, a National Emmy Award-winning former CNN producer. Lilly has more than 20 years of experience producing, writing, and supervising breaking news and feature programming for CNN, NBC, and PBS.

“Susan’s extensive television experience and her involvement with Telluride TV over the past year makes her the ideal leader for our station," said board president Barb Newby.

Cole Early, the station’s Executive Director for the past two years, resigned this month for personal reasons, having made major changes. During Early’s tenure, Telluride TV re-branded the station, launched the new program, “This Week in Telluride,” and started its website.

Newby and her board of directors are committed to continuing the positive momentum Early established.

“We’re ideally poised to move forward and develop new content for community viewing on Channel 12.”

“I appreciate the opportunity to bring my experience to Telluride TV and our community and am excited about growing our station,” Lilly said.

A Telluride local since 2008 – part-time since 2000 – Lilly is an EMT for the Telluride Fire Protection District, a substitute teacher for the Telluride School District, and a volunteer at many of Telluride's festivals.

Lilly received a BS degree in Journalism from Boston University. She is an alumna of the Atlantic Council of the United States, and was a Fellow at the Knight Center for Journalism at the University of Maryland.

Created in 1986, Telluride TV is a 501(c) (3) non-profit, community television station that cablecasts on Channel 12 to the greater Telluride region. Its mission is to celebrate the unique culture of Telluride by capturing its vitality and connecting the community through the medium of television.
