19 Apr Don’t Miss the Moab Car Show
Just a little reminder to those of you who love hot rods, street rods, muscle cars, classic trucks and vintage automobiles. "April Action" – the Moab Classic Car Show – takes place this weekend, Apr. 23-25, in the town's downtown City Park. On Friday, entrants register and are invited to participate in a "Rod Run" from Moab to Castle Valley on Highway 128, with an option for lunch at the Red Cliff Inn. Saturday is the main event, when a dazzling array of vehicles cover the park with vibrant color and outrageous style.
From shiny paint jobs to flat black "rat rods" to monster trucks to nostalgic Chevys, the crowd oohhs and aahhs over what they see. Hot dogs, burgers, sodas and water are available for sale at the park, along with a few vendors – you can even get your car or motorcycle pin-striped on the spot if you feel the urge. And then, of course, there are Moab's great restaurants, soda fountains, galleries, shops and hot-spots to take in if you become overwhelmed by all the heavy metal. The event is free and the drive is fabulous – great family fun and just the thing to liven up mud season in the San Juans. Enjoy the show!
