06 Feb Flynn’s collectible pins: special discount for TIO at Telluride Gallery of Fine Art
Size matters when it comes to Valentine’s presents. And small is better. The Telluride Gallery of Fine Art features bling made by some of the finest jewelers in the world, including the work of New York-based goldsmith Pat Flynn.
Flynn’s creations are in the permanent collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Renwick Gallery, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C. and Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustrimuseum, Norway to name a few prestigious institutions.
“What attracts me to my work is the dichotomy that exists between materials and processes,” explained the artist. “The wildness of forging juxtaposed with elegant goldsmithing techniques. I am interested in the underlying tension that results from combining disparate materials such as steel and diamonds or gold and steel, in organic forms. My hope is that my work will go out into the world and communicate for me.”
And for you on Valentine’s Day.
In his heart pins, Flynn mixes and matches iron, sterling, 18k yellow gold, diamonds, and rubies. Prices start at $350. A regular on Telluride Inside…and Out? Take 15 percent off.
