19 Jan Telluride’s Opera House welcomes Tim Reynolds & TR3, 1/20
Legendary guitarist and gypsy Tim Reynolds is in Telluride to perform with his trio,TR3, at the historic Sheridan Opera House on Wednesday, January 20. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.
Out of the gate, Reynolds got spoiled by adoring fans. As the child of pious, fiercely conservative parents, he began playing electric bass in a gospel band at age 12 before writhing congregations of ecstatic worshippers. Reynolds performed at church three times a week – over 1000 times – until his high school graduation.
Last time Reynolds appeared in the high country, he was on tour with all-around rock star Dave Matthews and the Dave Matthews-Tim Reynolds Acoustic Duo. Reynolds met bassist Mick Vaughn and drummer Dan Martier after a move from New Mexico to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. TR3 lays out a banquet of progressive, funk-infused rock including Reynolds originals and covers from a grab-bag of musical icons such as James Brown, Led Zeppelin, Pat Metheny, Prince, and Wayne Shorter. The group will also be performing selections from their newest catalog of material, featured on "Radiance," their latest release.
