07 Dec Wild Telluride: coyote hunting on the valley floor
In Telluride we can get high speed internet. We can get home delivery of the New York Times. We can experience the most current movies and music (eg: Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros last week). It's easy to think of this place as more civilized than it really is. Sunday morning I watched three coyotes hunting, mostly successfully, on the San Miguel valley floor, right outside my window. Sunday morning traffic was going by, oblivious, between my camera and the busy coyotes. The light wasn't great, and I was shooting through two layers of glass, but the nearest hunter is very much visible, and the mouse is breakfast.
