25 Nov Your Ah Haa Moment: Holiday happenings
Telluride's Ah Haa School for the Arts is decking its halls for the holiday season with themed classes for the young and young at heart.
On Noel Night, December 2, 5 – 7 p.m., the official launch of the holiday season in Telluride, Secret Santa elves hold a workshop for kids, where they get to make stockings, create their own signature wrapping paper and more crafty Xmas goodies. Get into the holiday spirit by letting your children create holiday art from the heart while you are out shopping.
Hide your scale. Wait on your weight. Holidays brings families around a dining table together, a rare occurrence in otherwise busy and separate lives. True, one smart remark from Aunt Tilly or Uncle Jack and someone winds up exiting the table in tears – but the point is to get them there in the first place.
Ah Haa is offering a series of cooking classes taught by pros whether you are entertaining casually or planning a gourmet extravaganza.
• Wednesday, December 9, 6 – 9 p.m., chef David Hafter teaches the preparing and presenting appetizers using techniques, ingredients, and perspectives of a professional chef but geared
toward home-based events.
• Wednesday, December 16, 6 – 9 p.m., chef Bertrand Marchal prepares a delicious (and very filling) three-course holiday meal at this demo-style cooking class, a spread guaranteed to impress your guests. (Bring your favorite beverage.)
