Open the door to a week of mystical illusion and metaphysical possibility.  Spirits dance and souls cross, witches fly and ghosts haunt. We have reached the dramatic end of the pagan Celtic year and the celebration of Samhain, a three-day festival honoring the season’s harvest and marking summer’s end. In ancient times, bonfires dotted the nightscape and families gathered in groups and villages to share the fruits of their labors, tell stories, evoke spirits and pay homage to their gods and goddesses.

In the Catholic church, the end of October and the first days of November are marked by All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, times set aside for prayer and remembrance of those who have passed on. Cemeteries are visited and cleaned, private altars are built and the departed loved ones’ favorite foods and beverages are set on tables or placed on gravesites.

Today these ritual holy days have morphed into our modern day Halloween. In a blend of tradition, belief and fantasy, costumes and candy honor the dead, celebrate the harvest and invoke the mysterious. As the season of darkness reigns, the veil between life and death is thin. The crack between the worlds opens. Spooks walk and spirits cross. Keep your eyes and hearts open, set out those treats and take note of the annual full “Hunters' Moon” on Nov. 2nd – Dia de los Muertos – at 12:14 p.m. MST in the Scorpio/Taurus polarity. Aries (Mar. 21-Apr.19)
Master Teacher Saturn moves into Libra – your opposite sign polarity – on Oct. 29th and begins a three-year cleanup regarding long-term relationships, commitments and marriage. This will be a period when you enter in to, strengthen, structure, restructure or end partnerships. Prepare for construction and start looking for solid ground upon which to build.

Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)
The upcoming full “hunter’s” moon in the Scorpio/Taurus polarity pulls upon heartstrings and plays a rather haunting tune of love, passion and redemption. You may feel like the Lone Ranger as the world revolves around you and others seem oblivious to your feelings. Hang in there and be the steadfast, loving, compassionate, kind soul you were born to be.
 
Gemini (May 21-June 21)
The brighter the light, the darker the shadow. Full moon energy hunts hidden treasures, illuminates mystery and invokes spirit. The veil is thin between physical and ethereal worlds, attend a séance or invite contact from those who’ve passed on. Halloween promises fun and plenty of action, enjoy the drama. Laughter and love heal wounds – indulge in both.

Cancer (June 22-July 22)
The spiritual challenge for Moonchildren now is in becoming a mature, responsible, realistic, practical, efficient and effective leader. No more self-pity or blaming others, it’s time to self-empower. Cultivate patience and take steadfast action. Engage friends to pursue jointly held goals, for the good of all concerned. Listen to your heart rather than your head.

Leo (July 23-Aug.22)
The full “hunter’s” moon on Dia de los Muertos brings a week of evocative spiritual energy and experience to a rather climactic high. Be careful in your daily round and take it easy when it comes to parties. Mars in your sign is lighting fires and fueling engines in places that normally lie dormant. Enjoy the flames by keeping them under control.
 
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22)
Saturn moves into neighbor Libra’s house on Oct. 29th and will stay there for most of the next three years. Celebrate this wise teacher’s lessons by behaving like a virgin, hunting like a lion and sleeping like a lamb. Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 20)
Big time blowouts and all night parties may appeal to the young or young-at-heart, but this year’s advice is this: use caution. We all know drinking and driving don’t mix, follow the mantras and find the door before you lose touch, drift and dive. Tap in to inner wisdom, think realistically and communicate needs honestly. Do the right thing.

Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19)
A major expose regarding friends and associates comes to light this week as the moon grows full. A pinnacle of sorts is reached as you can clearly see the hearts and souls of those with whom you’ve played and partnered. Intention and motive are big, examine both yours and theirs. Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
