Telluride's Wilkinson Public Library and the Telluride Historical Museum are presenting a free movie, "The Soul of a People" tonight, Wednesday, September 23. Showtime is 6:00 pm at the Library program room.

The film is set during the Great Depression, and documents the writers and photographers who went out to record the voices and faces of America as part of Roosevelt's New Deal. The iconic photograph of the migrant mother by Dorothea Lange was one of the images from this program, and one that stirred much controversy for being a depiction of hopelessness.
