Telluride Film Festival: Wegman poster signing

The Telluride Film Festival is not only about film. Conversations between film buffs in the theater waiting lines, a hike in the hills surrounding Telluride between films, face time with actors, directors, and the chance to watch William Wegman sign your personal copy of the festival poster: these are all elements that go into the TFF experience.

Wegman is best known for photogrphs of his ever-patient Weimaraner dogs, but he is also a painter with a unique view, a film-maker, and an author. And he created the 2009 TFF poster, in his own inimitable style.

Susan and I were among the fans who stood in line to get a signed Wegman poster on Saturday afternoon. It will occupy a place of honor in our home.
