Joe Cocker heads the list of super stars performing in Telluride at Steve Gumble’s 16th annual Blues & Brews Festival. Off-stage Joe Cocker is still a super star, especially in the eyes of the kids he and wife Pam support through the Cocker Kids Foundation.

This chapter of the Joe Cocker story begins in 1978, when a fan named Pam Baker, a local summer camp director, convinced Jane Fonda to rent her Santa Barbara ranch to the rocker. Cocker and Baker married in 1987.

In 1992, Joe and Pam Cocker decided they wanted a winter getaway to relax, hike and ski. They wound up looking at a piece of land called Missouri Flats near Crawford,  Colorado, held their noses and jumped. It was goodbye to their life in California. Hello Colorado.

In short order, the couple began researching the needs of kids in the North Fork Valley. Joe Cocker understands challenges. He has stared into the maw of the dragon more than once in his life, but with a little help from his friends, he is here to tell the tale. Cocker Kids Foundation exists to help area youth achieve personal goals that might not otherwise be attainable.
