15 Sep September Dawn
The next few mornings of predawn skies gift early risers with the graceful, delicate pairing of a slender crescent Moon with the dazzling planet Venus – it’s a magnificent sight to see and one this dedicated stargazer looks forward to whenever Venus does her annual stint as a brilliant “morning star.” Look low and above the eastern horizon approximately one hour before sunrise – you can’t miss the bright white light of this ancient stellar goddess or the slender cusp of the waning Moon – and you will see a recurring dance that has been witnessed by mankind for millennia. [Venus and the Moon will be conjunct on Sept. 16th.]
Also watch as Venus moves so close to Leo's "heart star" Regulus on the morning of Sept. 20th that the two are virutally 'one' – great opportunity to view and commune with the cosmos – onward and upward!
