11 Aug Telluride Festival of the Arts: Celebrity Line-Up of Culinary, Art and Music
The Plazas in Mountain Village will become a strolling gallery of fine art throughout the Telluride Festival of the Arts weekend, featuring the work of more than 40 artists presenting work from various media, including: ceramics, digital art, drawing, fiber, glass, graphics and printmaking, jewelry, metal-works, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture and wood.
For the cuisine and wine lover, gourmet meals with wine pairings and interactive cooking demonstrations will take place through the weekend at various venues led by culinary experts: Hosea Rosenberg, “Top Chef” New York Season 5 winner; Elise Wiggins; Jen Jasinski; Vaughn Hobbs; Daniel Baldwin and Executive Chef Kenny Gilbert of Capella Telluride. There will also be an event entitled “From Dirt to Delicious: Sustainable Food & Wine,” with lifestyle TV personality and chef Steve Spitz.
Michael Gadlin’s featured original artwork of the commemorative 2009 festival poster will be auctioned off at Friday night’s “Celebrating the Arts” Celebrity Chefs Dinner at Capella Telluride.
The signature event of the Telluride Festival of the Arts weekend is the celebrated Grand Tasting. This festive evening includes tastings from local restaurants, breweries, fine wineries and spirits.
Several of the Telluride Festival of the Arts events are free, including the Joan Osborne Concert, Friday the 15th at the Sunset Plaza in Mountain Village. Festival goers can purchase tickets for individual events or there are several packages offered on line at www.tellurideticket.com
