Telluride Chamber Music Festival: The Violin on Parade Project

IMG_2749 Telluride Chamber Music Festival and the Stronghouse Studio have officially launched "The Violin on Parade Project."

Area artists transformed ten violins, with freedom to interpret their artistic visions into unique works of art and two artists created a sculpture that includes the violin. The artists contributing their time and talents to the project include: Maya Gawdun, Sue Hobby, Judith Hall, John Hopkins, Amy Boebel, Cynthia Sampson, Elaine Fischer, Susan McCormick and Jenny Sullivan.  This event is designed to enhance support the Chamber Music Festival and the participating artists.

Several of the violins will make their first public appearance the week of August 10 throughout Telluride.  On Thursday, August 13th, the entire collection will be on display at a special Gallery Showing at the Telluride Gallery of Fine Arts at 5:30 p.m.  and following Festival concerts on August 14 and 15. The violins will make their final public appearance when they are silently auctioned off.  The final bids will be received up until August 15th at 9:30 PM at the Sheridan Opera House.
