30 Jul No rainbows without rain
My office window looks east, toward Telluride and the end of the upper San Miguel canyon. Cynthia Zehm photographs beautiful sunsets and storms over the La Sal range. I get sunrises and afternoon rainbows and alpenglow. I believe we are both lucky. This rainbow was shot out of my bedroom window at 7:20 pm, July 30, 2009. I didn't rush out to find the pot of gold. I found Telluride in the autumn of 1985, and that has been my pot of gold. I found a second cache in New York City in 1989. How lucky can one man be?
