July 9 to 16, 2009

Visible Planets: Morning: Venus, Mars and Jupiter    Evening: Saturn

DSC01512 I can’t stop thinking about Michael Jackson. I know it’s crazy, but it’s true. And even while I’m feeling crazy-busy about getting ready for a two week camping trip up in Idaho – paying bills, packing clothes, doing all the funny-nutty things we do before we leave – his story keeps tracking across my brain – and filling up my heart.

It seems to be all about home and family. Children and parents. Love and success. Working to get recognition for our talents. Feeling good when we do. What an incredibly gifted boy and man. And what a sad, sad end to the fairy tale life.

I watched the memorial service on and off while I was cleaning, organizing, packing, taking care of business and wrapping up loose ends. CNN covered the entire event, commercial-free. And then, on into the evening, we continued to have the boob-box tuned in to coverage of the day. All I can say is that I’m blown away, and I can’t stop thinking about Michael Jackson.

The memorial service took place on July 7th –  the day of the Cancer/Capricorn lunar eclipse – and also closely followed the wild fireworks and celebration week of America’s Independence Day. The eclipse, as I mentioned last week, is all about caretaking and taking care, childhood vs. adulthood. And the 4th of July is all about Mom, home and apple pie, running free in summer and relishing the freedom.

I’m always sentimental and nostalgic around the 4th. I miss my Mom and remember my childhood. I can feel the warm summer nights in Denver and the cooling grass in our front yard as I lay down upon the living carpet to watch the stars. I can hear the sprinkler going in the yard next door and some kids playing Ditch-Em down the block. Memories are precious.

And then, we have the quintessential Peter Pan, laying beneath a bed of roses in the Staple Center. Ah, well. Such is life…and death.

May we all bless our health, love each other and keep our faith. Happy trails!

Aries (Mar. 21-Apr.19)
Self-nurturing and self-care continue as dominant themes, but you may find that a bit challenging as friends, dreams and illusions have you off in other-world places and out-of-body experiences. With ruler Mars moving into Gemini, internal dialogues can run rampant. Focus on what is and refrain from speculation and “what ifs.” Be calm, kind and openhearted.

Taurus
(Apr. 20-May 20)
Motivator Mars moves from Taurus into neighboring Gemini this week, putting finishing touches on six weeks of newly awakened incentive and desire. Opportunity and inspiration join force in your solar 10th house of career as Jupiter and Neptune encourage visionary leaps and enlightened hope in professional arenas. Stay grounded and work one step at a time.

Gemini (May 21-June 21)
Action-addicted Mars moves into Gemini this week and primes the pump on personal agendas and self-fueled desires. The coming weeks present you with plenty of steam for moving ahead and getting it done. Sit down and make a list of project priorities, starting with whatever you’ve avoided or put off. Focus on taking care of you and watch the magic.

Cancer (June 22-July 22)
The July eclipse month delivers major new beginnings accompanied by the poignant awareness that you have crossed a bridge of no return. The uncharted territory upon which you are traveling involves deep commitment and strong integrity. Be honest about your feelings, expose fears and watch them disappear in the light of courage and faith.

Leo (July 23-Aug.22)
Sentimental longing and emotional yearning for what no longer is may come on strong as eclipse energy taps on past experience and days gone by. Honor the memory but accept the present – as it is. Live each and every moment of your precious life. There is plenty of joy, laughter, love and adventure left to discover. Embrace the moment and seize the day.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22)
Feelings of illusion or free-floating anxiety may accompany those of inspiration, excitement and enlightenment. It’s as if you see the schism between the finite and the infinite and are uncertain as to which is real. In all situations and circumstances, keep your feet on the ground and remain focused on the here and now. Simply do the next right thing.

Libra (Sep. 23-Oct.22)
Jupiter and Neptune conjoin in the second of three conjunctions this year on July 10th in your solar 5th house of the creative. Channels open to otherworldly sources and angelic forces, keep your heart open and your mind clear. Record ideas and seek inspiration via travel, art and romance. It’s time to get out and explore the world a bit. Seek and you shall find.

Scorpio
(Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
Personal self, childhood behavior patterns and family of origin issues continue to morph and transform as you feel the wounds and heal the pain. This is a time that requires great compassion and emotional detachment regarding others. Acceptance is the answer to all your problems today. Walk a path of heart and live in the light of truth.

Sagittarius
(Nov. 23-Dec. 20)
Mental expansion and perceptual breakthroughs are possible this week as ruler Jupiter conjoins inspirational Neptune in your solar 3rd house of the mind. Visionary thinking, imagination and fantasy fuel dreams and possibilities. Recognize the unlimited potential of the universe, but remember that you are living here on Earth. Take a trip, enjoy the ride.

Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19)
It may seem as if every single one of your most important, significant relationships is in a process of ending and new beginning. What’s up with that? The Cancer/Capricorn eclipses are shaking the ground of spirit and illuminating the path of growth. You have changed and so have the people with whom you have committed. Surrender to the flow and ride the wave.

Aquarius
(Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
This is another big week as Jupiter and Neptune conjoin in the late degrees of Aquarius. This translates as a time of major spiritual and physical breakthrough, when opportunities for self-improvement regarding health and well-being abound. Do what’s right and good for you, lead by example and explore the world of creative inspiration.

Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20)
Self-nurture artistic talents and create! The July eclipses are functioning to awaken your heart – opening it to the multi-faceted universe of unlimited possibility and potential. Indulging in self-pity of any sort keeps you stuck, break out and be free. Detach from the outcome and invest in the now. Eventually, the manifestation will come.
