John Cowan was only 21 when he joined Telluride Bluegrass Festival sensation, New Grass Revival, which also featured the redoubtable talents of Sam Bush, Bela Fleck and Pat Flynn. For a decade and a half, he was lead singer and bass player in the legendary group.
Almost nothing with "grass" at the end quite captures John's quixotic style, not jamgrass, soulgrass, bluegrass, rock 'n rollgrass, although everything old is newgrass again, when John takes the Sheridan Opera House stage with fellow bandmembers Jeff Autry on acoustic guitar, Shad Cobb on fiddle, John Frazier on mandolin, performing a "best of" set that includes tracks from his last release "Tattoo" and previews of ear candy to come. Saturday, March 7 at 8:00 pm.
