Where is God? What is God? Who is God?

How does one connect with God, with godliness and goodness – which is simply God with an extra “o”? In 12 step programs it’s called ‘good orderly direction,’ one’s Higher Power or a ‘power greater than ourselves’. In the world’s many and diverse religions, there are paths to God which include or dictate dogma and ritual. In nature, we see God in returning bluebirds, magnificent sunsets and crystalline snow. It’s easy for me to accept the fact that I’m not in control of the world economy or the weather on any particular day. I understand that there are forces far more powerful than myself, than my brothers and sisters, friends and neighbors. And yet, I also understand and intuit that we are all interconnected particles of light and life, individual and unique pieces of the holistic universe, the collective whole, the cosmic plan. We are the stars, made of starlight and born of magic, children of the cosmos and miracles of Creation.

As we move through the last week of winter, notice how differently you see and feel about the world around you. The Pisces zodiac month is one of transformation and metamorphosis. It is likened to gestation and the final phase of the embryonic period we spend inside our Mother’s womb. And just like that time, so long ago but so important to our life today, we are preparing for birth. The coming rebirth of spring, the primal thrust of Aries, the beginning of another natural solar year.  It’s time to check in with the Great Spirit, honor the Great Mystery, connect with our angels and say prayers for peace, love, compassion and forgiveness. God bless and may we discover the divine within and all around us. As above, so below.

Aries (Mar. 21-Apr.19)
Ruler Mars enters dreamy Pisces and turns up the heat on issues of past relationship and previous performance. Others may present you with lists of ‘what you did wrong’ or you feel as if you have to ‘pay your dues’ in some way. It’s a good time to forgive yourself and others as you practice compassion and consider your part in the bigger picture.

Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)
An old lover or former love – not necessarily human – may come knocking this week as romantic Venus retrogrades through your solar 12th house of past and present karma. It’s a great time to make amends, negotiate deals and settle disputes. Focus on diplomacy and be sweet. Friends and associates motivate action; get out with people you enjoy.

Gemini (May 21-June 21)
Career confusion may clarify this week as Mars slays procrastination and motivates action. You are suddenly ready and willing to wipe the slate clean, erase the past and move happily in to the present. Make peace with friends and seek creative inspiration via group involvement. Awaken to fresh fields of endeavor, set goals and pursue progress.

Cancer (June 22-July 22)
Reality bites may be more than you can comfortably chew. Personal, local, national and global economic crisis challenges security and stability – two dietary staples you rarely go without. But, somehow it’s still working out for you and yours. Hang in there and continue following that very astute and accurate intuition. Stay positive and look for the light.

Leo (July 23-Aug.22)
Review travel itineraries and explore beautiful, romantic places and possibilities. You are yearning for excitement and freedom, research the options and prepare for flight. A wise teacher or guru of sorts may open the door to enlightenment. Be on the lookout for sage wisdom and practice political savvy. Shine light in darkness, awaken and be free!

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22)
More snap, crackle, pop and sudden breakthroughs pave the way to a week of electrically charged change and awakening. It’s simply time to let go of what no longer works and set yourself free! The old equations and credit binges are history. It’s time to be frugally fabulous and passionately practical. Revamp your life and revitalize your world.

Libra (Sep. 23-Oct.22)
You have suddenly reached a point of no return. The long grieving process has ended. You are ready to forgive and forget, let go and move forward. Maintain personal composure and practice compassion with partners as you breathe deep and walk your talk. Smiles melt ice and the truth heals. Focus on progress and keep working on yours.
