12 Feb The 10th annual Telluride Comedy Fest opens tonight at Opera House
Novelist/ editor/satirist Peter de Vries once observed that "comedy deals with that portion of our suffering that is exempt from tragedy." Forget your troubles come on get happy starting tonight when the 10th annual Telluride Comedy opens for a weekend of derring-do at the historic Sheridan Opera House.
In 2003, Sheridan Arts Foundation director Ronnie Palamar approached the host with the most, thespian/director Jeb Berrier, about putting the show together. Jeb turned around and asked his former acting buddy Rob Corddry ("The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," Ari Fleischer in "W," "The Heartbreak Kid" with Ben Stiller, "Blades of Glory," etc.) to come to town. When the superstar accepted Jeb's invitation, recruiting other top tier actors was a snap.
One of the highlights of the weekend is The Ronna and Beverly Show.
Check out the video. And though some of the faces have changed, a peek at Comedy Fests past should give an idea of what this weekend's audiences can expect.
