23 Jan In the pink: LADIES’ NIGHT CONCERT/DANCE PARTY at Opera House tomorrow night, 7 p.m.
For these ladies, it was all about finding their inner glitter and getting down. We get down with them at Telluride's Sheridan Opera House, Saturday, 24 January, at 7 p.m.
The irrepressible Mark Galbo, the Pied Piper of the Telluride Mountain School’s Rock and Roll Academy, has a brand new bag: since October, in addition to his kids, he has been shepherding two new bands of lady rockers, several of whom are mothers of kids in his bands.
“Mach Schau” is Suzanne Cheavens, Baerbel Hacke, Molly Papier, Cindy Carver, Theresa Imparato, Kathleen Erie.
“Untracked” is Suz Remec, Melissa Plantz, Libby Ball, Melanie McDonald, and Wendy Fulton.
“When the ladies starting rehearsing it was immediately apparent we had embarked upon a very meaningful journey of self-empowerment, self-expression, community, friendship, support. And – yeah – FUN. What these women began doing together naturally fits perfectly with the mission and ideals of the Rock and Roll Academy: “The Band Is Your Teacher. Music Is Instant Community.”
