Visible Planets: Morning: Saturn    Evening: Venus

Last week's Capricorn/Cancer Full Moon rose above the relatively flat eastern horizon of the Uncompahgre Plateau exactly as the Sun set below the distant "Blues" in Utah's canyonland country south of Moab. I was stunned by the subtle pastel beauty of an enormous ivory Moon against a pale pink and aqua sky. Horsefly Mesa was covered in snowy white, studded with blue-black craggy pine and naked aspen. I thought of Edward Abbey in his mysterious afterlife and wondered if he still roamed in spirit amongst the desert rocks and pristine peaks – the rugged lands he loved so much – or if he had long forgotten the earthly life for one more abstract and enchanting beyond. 

It is at moments like these, when my body senses the ethereal magic, the fleeting cosmic high of celestial magnitude and the interconnectedness of all creation, that I can feel my own spirit – energy, light, nothing and everything, forever and ever, eternal – and I am at peace. To live in a place of such natural grandeur, with hope and freedom as allies, I am truly blessed. May we all embrace the many gifts of our Father Sun, Mother Earth and Great Spirit. May we walk in beauty.

Aries (Mar. 21-Apr.19)  The big news this week is old news, again. Mercury retrograde reminds the Ram to take another good look at long and short-term goals. What special and unique gifts and talents do you have to give to the world? How can you make money doing what you love? Rest and relax as you reassess. Focus on practical, realistic strategies of manifestation.

Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)  Pleasure and romance come by way of social outings and group associations. Join that club, attend those meetings and discover the joy of expanded awareness and shared visions. Information and insight comes via others now. Be open to new ideas and fresh perspectives.  Pursue spiritual enlightenment and manifest personal creativity.

 Gemini (May 21-June 21)  Ruler Mercury retrograde returns you to the tried and true road of spirit via educational tools and virtual realities. Read books, surf the net and explore options regarding philosophy, politics and religion. Also take a look at shared finances, prepare tax ledgers and balance books. It’s time to address and finish projects you’ve left hanging. Follow the light.

Cancer (June 22-July 22)  Prepare yourself for contact with former lovers, old friends and previous associates. Mercury retrograde requires the reexamination of partnerships, commitments and long-term relationships. Perhaps it’s time to address resentment or take action regarding a financial settlement. Attend to old business, clean up messes and focus on forgiveness.

 Leo (July 23-Aug.22)  Self-improvement remains a theme as you polish the silver and prepare for guests. A communication issue with a partner or mate may resurface. This time, communicate! Be willing to admit your part and apologize for wrongs, but also express your truth as your feel it. Maintain clarity and composure, refrain from drama and be cool.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sep.22)  This week Mercury returns you to the sometimes-lonely road of self-improvement and reminds you that it’s the best route to travel if you’re looking to be happy, joyous and free. Personal responsibility, conscious choice and golden humility are golden tools to use along the way, especially in case of a breakdown. Take it easy, take it slow and focus on progress.

Libra (Sep. 23-Oct.22)  Cloudy skies and silver linings continue, as sunny days play peek-a-boo with winter. A prolonged period of inner work pays off slowly but surely as you see spiritual progress in a very material world. Keep the faith and stay on the path. Focus on doing the next right thing and living happily in the present. Accept responsibility and experience freedom.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)  Motivation to take care of business may be strong, but planetary energies encourage patience and caution. Think before you speak and look before you leap. Prepare for personal realignment as you re-center your soul and rekindle your spirit.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)  Hark, the herald angels sing! The year’s first solar eclipse looms upon the celestial horizon, and it takes place in your sign. This translates as a powerful personal new beginning, a time of great potential regarding life direction, career goals and relationship commitment. Take this week to relax, feel your heart and listen to inner voices. Follow the light

Pisces (Feb. 19-Mar. 20)  Voluptuous Venus in your sign shines love and beauty upon those who follow the path of gracious living, compassionate giving and sweet smiling. A little honey goes a long way when things turn sour. An old resentment or communication misunderstanding may reappear, do your best to heal the wound and forgive the trespasses. No one and nothing is perfect.
