28 Dec Austin Halpern does laps for Telluride Adaptive Sports Program
Christmas morning, while most kids his age were tearing open gift packages, Austin Halpern was tearing down the Misty Maiden run at Telluride.
Lap after lap, his mission was to raise money to support TASP. He had worked to sign up sponsors, either by the lap or for a specified donation. Originally Austin intended to do his Ski-a-thon on 24 December, but illness forced the delay. On the 25th, he still wasn’t up to par, but like the trooper he is, he made 18 runs (about 18000 vertical feet) before calling a halt about noon. Telski instructor, Woodfin Pattishall accompanied Austin on his effort.
This is the 3d year Austin has done his Ski-a-thon, last year raising over $5000 for TASP. We’re proud of you, Austin. And… Thanks.
