31 May Telluride WOW: Top Presenter Bill Fabrocini
On its home page, Telluride WOW describes itself as a festival for EVERYONE, “an event with a passion to change lives through health and fitness – to inspire, motivate, and educate.” Bill Fabrocini is a top presenter at the 2016 Telluride WOW Festival, this year, Thursday, June 9 – Sunday, June 12. For a full schedule go here. To register and purchase passes/tickets, go here.
Bill and co-author Chris Crowley of “Fitter Next Year,” “Thinner Next Year,” and the recent “Younger Next Year: Exercise Program” are also scheduled to appear Sunday, September 11, at the Telluride First Foundation’s 2nd annual Integrative Wellness Summit. Stay tuned for details.
“Telluride WOW Festival is a one-of-a-kind event featuring some of the premiere professional presenters from the worlds of fitness, health, sports, and medicine,” explained Bill. “Having attended over the years as both presenter and participant, I was very impressed with the variety of topics covered, lectures and exercise sessions alike. The weekend offers something for everyone regardless of where they are in terms of their own health and fitness goals and education level. I left WOW filled with creative ideas I was ultimately able to integrate into my sports practices. Most importantly, I made many new friends and gained several opportunities for professional networking. I highly recommend attending WOW.”
Pop quiz. Know the name Juan Ponce de León?
On April 2, 1513, Spanish explorer Ponce de León and his crew became the first recorded Europeans to set eyes on Florida.
Ok, no biggie. Who cares? (Florida. Just a bunch of retired blue hairs, long-legged Latinos, and hanging chads right?)
Here’s the punch line: legend has it that Ponce and the boys made that discovery while searching for the Fountain of Youth, a magical water source supposedly capable of reversing the aging process and curing sickness.
So you and Ponce might have something in common.
You wouldn’t mind finding that fountain – or a facsimile thereof– would you?
Well, me too.
Now what if I said that a fountain surrogate is not the Holy Grail. What if I told you it is within your grasp – that is, if you make certain lifestyle tweaks.
Learn what to do to turn back – or at least stall – the clock by attending Bill Fabrocini’s lecture on the subject at Telluride WOW 2016. On Sunday, June 12, 9:30 a.m., at Telluride WOW, Bill Fabrocini gives a lecture-demonstration on “Aging: Reversing the Biological Clock.”
According to the program:
Right off the pages of the recently acclaimed, “Younger Next Year: The Exercise Program,” the science behind staying young and reversing the biological clock is revealed. Bill will discuss specific insights to the body systems and its architecture and how they can be utilized to combat the tide of aging. Lecture, discussion, and lots of demonstrations.
According to Bill’s co-author, Chris Crowley, (who also collaborated with Bill on New York Times bestseller “Thinner Next Year”), from “Younger Next Year: The Exercise Program”:
…It is known that working out, pretty hard (for you), six days a week for the rest of your life is the single great key to being fitter, more amusing, more energetic, more creative, sexier, and radically healthier… And there is a whole new way of looking at exercise… Bill Fabrocini – the brains of the critical “strength” part of the book – is almost certainly the smartest guy in the country and one of the most respected in his field. I have spent years with him and I still learn something important and new almost every time we do a program together. (We spend a lot of time together in retreats and such.) Bill is a genius in the field, he cares like crazy, and he has become one of the best communicators around. The program is rock-solid and inspirational because he designed it.
Crowley raves on and on about Bill:
I’m prejudiced, of course, but I have worked very very closely with Bill – mostly on “Thinner…”– for years now, and I think he is smarter about strength training, keeping your body working right all the way out, and all the other key aspects of movement than anyone I’ve ever met. He is an intuitive healer … a category of which I am normally leery, but not in his case. Bill has deep technical knowledge AND a mysterious feel. It doesn’t get better than that…
From Bill:
Your living age maybe 60 or 70 or 80, but you can have the biology of living tissue and quality of life function of a 40- or 50-year-old if you follow the concepts we teach in the book – principals I will review at Telluride WOW… By the way, visa versa is also true: you can be 40 or 50 and have the biology and living function of an 80-year-old, which we sadly see in America more and more. Same in terms of brain function.
In other words, your chronological or real age may not be what some doctors and wellness practitioners describe as your “fitness age,” which is measured by variables like weight, frequency, and intensity of your exercise program, resting and maximum heart rates, and waistline measurement.
Now have I got your attention?
Wait, there’s more.
On Friday, June 10, 2 p.m., Bill will talk about “Strategic Exercise Training for Optimal Performance.”
From the WOW program:
Join Bill during this 90-minute lecture-exercise session as he challenges you to maximize your body’s output. You will learn how to incorporate the principles Bill applies with his elite athletes, but tailor them to your specific needs. Whether you are working around an injury or chronic joint pain, trying to build a durable and resilent body, or seeking peak athletic performance, this session will provide you with an organizational system to better structure your exercise training.
