Over a year ago, Paul Major, the Foundation’s President and CEO, announced at the December 2019 board meeting, that after 20 years of leadership, he would step down. What followed was a year-long national search for his replacement lead by a committee of the board and input from the community and donors. Today, the Telluride Foundation Board Chair, Anne Slaughter Andrew, announced that Jason Corzine will be joining the Telluride Foundation as the new President and CEO. In that role he will lead the 21-year-old Telluride Foundation with a $7M+ annual budget, 7 FTE staff and several contractors, plus multiple initiatives and grant-making and capacity building programs.

Corzine comes to the Foundation with 25 years of experience leading high-impact organizations, including the National Park Foundation and The Trust for Public Land. He is currently the Vice President of the National Park Foundation where he is responsible for the direction of the Resource Management Program and day-to-day management of key relationships to support all aspects of the organization, particularly national programs focused on Climate Resiliency, History/Culture, Partner Engagement, Government Affairs, and Resiliency/Sustainability on behalf of the National Park Service. Prior to that position, from 2000 to 2018, Corzine served as the Community Futures and Southwest Director for The Trust for Public Land.

Corzine holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry and a Master of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Texas (San Antonio). He brings deep experience working in rural communities within the intermountain west including Telluride and the surrounding region.

Corzine also brings a successful history of fundraising, increasing philanthropic revenue for community-driven programs during his career at The Trust for Public Land and securing transformative  philanthropic gifts for the National Park Foundation to preserve our nation’s iconic landscapes and historic and cultural sites.

Corzine is in the process of completing his tenure at the National Park Foundation and starting the transition to Telluride where he will begin his new job  on February 1. Major, who has remained as CEO over the past year, will continue in his current position until on-boarding of the new CEO is complete.
