Ah Haa: Annual FUNraiser Goes Digital, 7/2 – 18

Ah Haa: Annual FUNraiser Goes Digital, 7/2 – 18

Difficult times call for creative measures, so this summer, Telluride’s Ah Haa School for the Arts is taking a creative – and safe – approach to its 2020 auction. To see what is on the auction block and start bidding, simply register for a free paddle through Ah Haa’s website, www.ahhaa.org. Once on the homepage, look for the “Get Auction Paddle Here!” on the top of the screen. Click on the link to get to the Handbid auction platform, an easy-to-use, secure online bidding system. Once registered, participants can browse hundreds of items, artwork, tickets and deals. Silent Auction bidding opens on Thursday, July 2, continuing until the Auction Finale at 7:30 pm Friday, July 17. The auction officially ends Saturday, July 18, 12 pm MST.

For more information, visit ahhaa.org or call 970-728-3886.

The Ah Haa school’s 28th annual benefit art auction has moved online, offering two weeks of virtual bidding on a wide variety of fantastic items. And it’s easy to participate from the comfort of your home: just register for a virtual paddle and start browsing the artwork, goods, services, and packages. With a menu of items as rich as ever, Ah Haa has set a $100,000 fundraising goal.

Like most nonprofit arts organizations, Ah Haa is financially vulnerable even in the best of times. This summer’s halted and altered programming due to COVID-19 means the school will make only a small fraction of the income it depends on to sustain its operation for the year. Donations of any amount will make a measurable impact, supporting Ah Haa’s staff, instructors, artists and the institution as a whole through the economic crisis caused by the pandemic.

During crisis, people often turn to the arts for comfort, hope, inspiration and connection. Making art can provide a way to move forward, also serving as a mirror that reflects what is hard, what is confusing and what remains beautiful. With the public’s help, Ah Haa can carry continue to carry a creative torch that will help the Telluride community heal and persevere. According to Ah Haa Executive Director Judy Kohin, it is the generosity of Ah Haa’s patrons that will make that possible.

Don’t miss out on this unique, virtual experience that allows everyone to participate in supporting the arts and sustaining Ah Haa through these tough economic times. There may not be entertainment this year, but there’s plenty to entice, and you don’t even have to get off the couch.
