30 Nov Ah Haa: Cup & Bowl Ceramics Exhibition & Sale Opens Noel Night
Just in time for the holidays, Telluride’s Ah Haa School presents its Cup & Bowl Show to celebrate (and sell!) work by the Telluride region’s abundantly talented ceramicists. The exhibition opens on Noel Night with additional weekend hours Dec. 5-6.
“All of our ceramics instructors are also fantastic artists – not to mention a number of our current and former students,” said Kris Kwasniewski, Ah Haa’s Adult Curriculum Manager. “The Ah Haa staff wanted to find a way to showcase their skills and also provide an opportunity for them to sell their works. We thought a holiday season cup and bowl show would be perfect.”
Cup & Bowl will include work by 12 local ceramicists: Abby Hamblin, Greta Neumann, Lauren Henriksen, Jacey DePriest, Sally Whitehead, Julie McNair, Goedele Vanhille Fahnestock, Chris Zieve, Shawn Christman, Danelle Norman, Deidra Krois, and Megan Miller. Each artist was invited to create 10 pieces, cups and bowls of varying sizes and shapes.
“The work we’ve seen so far is beautiful!” said Kwasniewski. “I’ll certainly be doing some holiday shopping at this show.”
Again, the show opens Wednesday, December 2, for Noel Night with a reception from 5-8 p.m. (though early shoppers are welcome to come by the school anytime after 1 p.m.). The sale will continue through December 18, including weekend hours from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Dec. 5-6 to coordinate with the Telluride Holiday Arts Bazaar, which takes place this Saturday and Sunday at the Elks Lodge, just up the street from the Ah Haa (The Depot, 300 S. Townsend).
“Come one, come all to see some original ceramics and find a gift or two!” said Kwasniewski.
